Now, we all live in Buies Creek and we all know that the word "local" really means anything within a 30 minute drive...so...

I'd like to know if the old Iguana's, new Italian place is any good...?

Also, anyone heard about The Creek?  It's off 421, heading toward Lillington.

Shameless promotion for Sunni Sky's in Angier.  If you haven't had their ice cream, GO.

It makes me sad that we consider Fuquay and to an extent, Raleigh, conventional leisurely excursions... In Winston, I don't drive for more than 20 minutes...

It's funny though how the quality of everything goes up about ten notches when you cross from Harnett to Wake county.

Fuquay Varina FTW!

What's everyone's favorite bar?
I like a White Collar Crime in Raliegh, sort of an indie crowd and they never card.

But I'd like some suggestions!

Carding is kind of pointless for me. It's never as much fun when you're 21.

PBs is a great place to pre-game before going out for the night. Five bucks all you can drink beer! I used to frequent the Brewery a lot back in the day, too. There haven't been any good shows there lately, though.

Anybody ever been to Disco Rodeo? (Thrice concert there in November)

When I did live in Raleigh, I worked the Marlboro bar program so we went to a lot of different bars to promote.  If you've never been to the following, they are good for atleast a one time trip:

Lucky B's Around the Corner-located behind Armadillo Grill.  Chill place, lots of regulars, pool tables, gets packed...Nice covered patio:)

Stool Pigeons-Stoolies to all the regulars.  BAR GETS PACKED.  Pool tables that people actually play on.  Good restrooms(if you're a girl this is essential)...They have live music there some nights and it gets so loud so you'd better really like the band playing.  Great food, decent prices.

Blue Martini-LOVE Wednesday nights for girls-Free appetizers for ladies and cheaper martinis($5?)  There's this black guy who plays the blues there some nights and I love his music.  Yuppie scene but nice...and if you don't like it, cross on over to...

Napper Tandys-IBM crowd hangs here.  Darts are fun.  Not a bad scene.

Tir Na Nog-Good for dinner...not sure about night life.  I went here to promote but it just gets really packed during shows.

Flying Saucer-A must for beer lovers.  People keep to themself..not a lot fo mingling.

Rum Runners-Lots of mingling, lots of piano music.  Fun place, LOUD!  Back bar for a quiter stay.

Umm, oh and finally, The Rockford...Little known place scross from Hibernian.  Little bar but LOVELY for a date.  This place is a diamond.

Geez, I can't wait to move back to Raleigh!

Wow! Thanks!

Not that I'm not allowed in Rum Runners anymore, but I've pissed off almost all the bouncers there in and out of the bar :-P

P.s. my no card comment was for anyone else reading who isn't 21 yet. :-P

6 more days for me :)

Happy early 21st...it's really a big relief once you finally hit that day.

And yet a silent prayer of regret for the illicit thrill of all those marathon liver-killing eves that have gone before, and may never be again.

yeah happy 21st man, but then once you turn 22, the thrill is all over, so a bit over a year before all the thrill is gone :-P

Oh and just saw it today Campbell IS getting a Quiznos, whether you like it or not, it's expansion and that's something we need.

Agreed, anything on Campbell's campus is an improvement (even if Quizno's sucks).

Quizno's sucks?! WTF?!

Anyways. I have been recently all about some Flying Saucer. Great beer collection, fun pub atmosphere.

Tir Na Nog - It was a pretty fun place, live bands, a lot of mircobrews. Good stuff, def enjoyed.

The Office - I am not a club person to begin with so I am not overly impressed with this place. But I have had tons of fun in here. Sometimes this place is really packed and I've also seen it on a Friday at midnight pretty much dead.

Sin City- Hehehehe, I had fun at this place, just because of who I was with. The place itself was meh. The bartenders wear corsets. I am a fan of corsets. There is a pretty cool lounge area with nice sofas, but the drinks are expensive and I am never a fan of cover. Oh and the DJ really sucked.

Hi5- I enjoyed this place. G105, I think, does their live show here on Friday. That was fun. Some of their menu stuff is good too. Like anything in that little 3 club area I forget what they call it, Hi5 + Bogarts + Red Room, the drinks are a bit pricey. But from what I had of their mix drinks, it was pretty good.

Buckhead Saloon- I enjoyed this place. You need a membership or be invited by a member. Just make sure you have an attactive female(s) and any guy will "invite" you in with him. You can get a membership on their site for two dollars, they don't sell it at the door. Cool little stage/dance floor area with another big section for sofas and pool tables.

Legends- Yes, I know what you are thinking. "Isn't that the gay bar?" Yes it is. "Are you gay?" No I am not. If you can get over yourself and your preconceived notions, you'll see that this place is actually pretty nice. Good dance floor, great outdoors area in the middle, and even better lounge area. Friendly bartenders and nicely priced drinks. The music is meh, a lot of techno. Pretty much not a bad club if you can get over homophobia and cross dressers.

City Limits- Yey for Bikini Bullriding Thursday! Its not a bad little country bar. They do mix it up a bit, but the dance floor is so damn small it doesn't matter. Yes, the bullriding competition is quite entertaining. Of course they have a cover and you need cash for that. We said we were going to the ATM and just went in and never paid through. lol.

At the moment that is all I can think of. You want some restaurant reviews. Let me know, I am a wannabe foodie.

Oh BTW, the new Italian place isn't bad. Its not going to blow your mind or anything but its pretty decent italian food. They have big beers too. I had the lasagna.

Quiznos = Way overpriced for toasted bread.
Jersey Mikes pwns Quiznos

Definitely agree on the tri-club. Red Room/Bogarts/Hi5 is great; one cover gets you in all three.

BUT, if you're a college student short on cash, it's always a good idea to get yourself going with cheap booze, in which case you should head to PB's on Hillsborough street...if you go on the right night, they have kegs set up with all the booze you can drink for $5. It's a nice way to start the evening.
