Well, I give you credit for not putting it on your lower back.

or the area above your pubic region, off to the side.

Monday, April 24, 2006 7:33 AM

oh and I got to give you props, because it actually is the right symbols

why did you chose this?

[Edited by Redebekadia on 4/23/2006 9:39:23 PM. Reason for edit: oh yeah, my curious side has the best of me]

oh come on, not everyone follows a trend, she might have a legitimate reason.

I chose it because i believe that everyone deserves to be treated the same. get it- equality... hah I would never get it on my lower back... i want an epiderral once im pregnant... THanks for all of those props! hah
but yall should know, this one is not the real one. i wanted to see how it would look before i got a permanent one... so this is just a Henna done by my friend. i have decided i want it smaller and higher up on the neck. not on my back

Monday, April 24, 2006 7:58 AM

Redebekadia

why not just have it written out in english, in a cool script. Since you understand english, can you even pronounce the chinese form? Also, then you dont have to explain everytime someone asks about it, and go through ridicule like Alcibiades and I will dish out.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I just had an inspiration!!!! Spell out EQUA-LITY across your fingers. Like the "Love Hate" thing.... that would kick ass.... I might do that

someone photoshop plz, I want to see what that would look like!!!!

because i dont like the way it looks in english, like a stamp... so i decided to get it in Kanji. I dont mind saying what it means when people ask. it gives me a chance to get to know a person. you know, make a new friend.

Your idea is very good... for you... but not for me. i want it in a place where if i need to, i can hide it by having my hair down

Monday, April 24, 2006 8:06 AM

Redebekadia

^^heh, I understand that symbols are so much better then written out, for example my new tattoo is an Adinkra which I could have easily had the message written out, but that wouldnt have been as good.

and dang it, I cannot find a damn picture of fingers to make a prototype of my next tattoo....

hah aw thats a shame... it would be cool to see how theyd look

(this is Jenn's friend Mandi) I personally think the tattoo idea is a good one, maybe not this specific draft of it... maybe a more stylized version of these symbols would be nice... along w/ placing the two closer together n making them smaller... but yeah
oh yeah... n who are you, Alcibiades, to judge originality... what makes you so "different" that you think you can speak with disdain towards Jenn and her decisions? You don't know her so why are you being a random asshole... don't comment on her pics if she is so below you and your insipid interest in a non-existant nuance... no person is ever really any more "original" than the guy next to him... no matter how different they are from each other they are both simply copying many that came before them... so yeah... back to what I was saying... leave Jenn alone n bother someone else

So, you want equality, but you want to be able to cover it when it may be a problem?

Anyone else see the irony in that?

Monday, April 24, 2006 9:42 AM

i would only cover it around my mother since she doesnt approve of tattoos...
That knuckle print looks might fine red!

Meems... quit making such a fool of yourself... She means Equality as in maybe one day morons like you will stop knitpicking at other peoples little differences, wants and choices. And maybe... did you think she might need to cover it up for profession reasons? Equality has nothing to do with that.

And Jenn... props again to you for choosing to do it in henna before actually getting the tat done... something people generally don't think about. Hence the reason I'm 25, and no tattoos yet... I'm gonna be absolutely positive I want it, before I get it...

i'd say if you were going to get this to get the symbols closer. i saw that you were gonna move it up higher and that sounds good because it kinda makes the back look unbalanced as is. well, to me anyway.

Yeah i totally agree... THey will be right next to each other and smaller and on my neck

i have a serious question here

are you really sure that's what it means? it could fuckin' mean "i have hemorrhoids" and you would never know and you'd be walking around with a shit-eatin' grin on your face.

maybe you should verify and research kanji before you go get such an ugly tattoo

you are mistaken or in a wrong kind of design. ive had 7 people double check it... 5 of which do it for a living, one is my cousin who lives in Japan, and somebody on here checked it for themselves... you are the first to say it is incorrect

Wow, you don't even understand Japanese calligraphy and you're getting it done, those are the same symbols...one is just more graceful then the other.

and you dont know your english and yet you try and correct me in other languages... then refers to a time... than refers to a difference in things. you arent the only one who does it so it is easily excused...
the symbol you put for 'palm' is not what i have! The top and bottom line are supposed to be even... and the shape of the left one is supposed to be different... you are showing me a whole different design... i used to live all over the world and i learned a lot from the environments... so please lay off. i know what i am doing

thanks sox for the defense! i try to be a good person

there's a difference between the meanings of chinese and japanese kanji even if it's the same character

[Edited by Trillian on 4/27/2006 5:23:18 PM. Reason for edit: there's also about eight different calligraphy styles to write them in]

Really? Because what I thought it meant was equality of women and men.
I also think that it's a pretty large blanket meaning of equality, so maybe she should have thought that equality between the inked and the un-inked has just as much to do with the meaning as any other meaning?
No, I'm just a fool. Equality only needs to be shown with pride when it's appropriate.
