WRX STiStyle	^ so it has been rebuilt , i was guessing it was due for that and 3mm apex seals are a great way to hold huge amounts of power, especially if you intend on running a big turbo with a high flow injectors. COrrect engine mapping is the key to the rx-7's full potential. a lot of my buddies use nitrous set-ups and huge turbo's and they use 3mm seals to "protect" the rotor from serious damage, sure the 3mm seals are harder on revving but you migh lose a lilttle power but at least you know your rotor seals wont bust from the side. AarOWN1017	There is no need or benefit of 3mm apex seals. The only reason 3mm apex seals should be used is because the apex seal grooves on the rotor are worn and 2mm seals won't fit properly anymore. There are plenty of people making 600+ rwhp on 2mm seals. That extra 1mm of material isnt going to protect a rotary any better than a 2mm in the case of pre-detonation. I would choose an apex seal based on its design: 1. Material used (hardness) 2. Design of apex seal (1, 2 or 3 piece) 3. Design/number of springs used for apex seal ... not the thickness.
