i camped out for 3 games too and was outside for game 7... amasing times. I also got to sit on the lightning bench before game 7 of the flyers series, that's why we won

look at attendance numbers post strike in any sport.... they suck, hard
and since hockey didnt have that good of numbers before the strike, they will be even worse
the Lightning specifically should do above average due to winning, but overall the NHL attendance next year will be horrendous

anticipation? only by a very small group of hardcore fans. to most, hockey is now an afterthought at best
strike is not officially over, but the new agreement should be signed this month

i've been anticipating it...i think a lot of other ppl have been too, but hockey has never been a really popular sport compared to baseball, football, and basketball (it should be though!)

For someone that doesnt know anything about a sport you sure try to talk alot of shit about it.
Anyway, USF does have a ice hockey team, D3 ACHA, they have been in the running for nationals the past couple years. Their conference has changed to include team from Tenn, NC, SC, VA, MD (GA is still in the bracket). TX and LA have moved to a difference conference.
www.icebulls.org but the site hasn't been updated since the last game, it should be updated within the next two weeks or so with information on tryouts and the new schedule for the season.
