As a physician-in-training:
I will remember that medicine is a multi-faceted discipline, combining art and science, with the aim of preventing disease when possible, treating when necessary, and above all, expressing genuine empathy and understanding to patients and families.
My patients' welfare will be my primary concern; I will use my skills to give them the best care I can. I will be an advocate for my patients, remembering to protect their privacy and keep my interactions with them confidential.
I will respect the efforts of my teachers and my colleagues. I will approach my studies with integrity and excellence, understanding that learning is the cornerstones of being a quality physician. I will not let gender, race, sexual orientation, or religion impair my interactions with patients or colleagues. in order to properly care for my patients, I will also take care of myself, both body and spirit.
This oath I take freely, upon my honor.

I babysit and know a lotta doctors so maybe down the line if you ever need anything... (like wanna go into practice with a good one or want a job with someone or what not) u can always ask and I will let u know some good names/contacts around the area

NY Zeta: {looks out window at the 10" of snow} yup, sure enough, i'm in Syracuse! Clinton... That's near New Hartford and Utica, right!??! It's 40 minutes if you drive aggressively and let me tell you; people drive differently up here compared to FL.
Yes, i wanna be a doctor. As far as my specialty... I was looking at going into surgery of some form. Orthopedics or maybe plastics. I really enjoyed anatomy with the copious dissections and like the fact that surgery can alter someone's anatomy. If you're interested in oncology, go to Moffitt. Volunteer there to get your foot in the door and then try to shadow some of the doctors. I shadowed Urologist Oncologists and it was most educational!
I'll keep in mind that you have connections with docs. Never hurts to know a few people
Thanks for the post!

It's funny how stories get twisted when they go through dumb girls and moronic frat boys.

As soon as I saw the thumbnail to this pic, I knew it had to be the famous "White Coat Ceremony".
Congrats on this major step to becoming a physician!
