Ah. The late 90s. Such vivid memories!
I really like the artwork. The Clone Saga storyline was... I don't think it really fit Spider-Man. It would have worked better with someone like Captain America, whose molecular makeup has been used to design Omega Red, the Hulk, and others. Unfortunately, other than the fact that Captain America kicks major tail, he sucks as a character.

Read Earth X. Other than possibly the greatest story line I have ever read, and still need to read Universe X and Paradise X. You learn a lot about the original Marvel Heroes: Captain America, Namor, the Human Torch (the robot, not the fantastic 4 member), and the Fantastic Four. You really get a feeling and understanding of the horrors that Captain America went through.

I've read Earth X, and you've got to understand that Earth X, Paradise X, or anything X is merely a different interpretation of Marvel Continuity. I really, really, really don't -like- Earth X because of it's apocalypticesque storyline, and the fact that Spider-Man has a tub.
If Earth X is your favorite storyline, though... I don't know...
Personally, I think that "Watchmen" is the greatest storyline ever produced. Another one would be "Midsummer Night's Dream" in SANDMAN. Lastly, KINGDOM COME is much much much better than Earth X; but I feel that the heroes over at DC are far better constructed than those in Marvel.

I'm not trying to down spiderman or anything, but this picture sure seems like impending homoeroticism. Spidey is practically screaming rape.

Ben Rielly was the shit. As far as the storyline, I'm really not sure when it started going down hill. In my humble opinion, Scarlet Spider was a much better Spider-man. Think about it, inventive costume, impact webbing, webstingers, etc. He created stuff that Peter Parker hadn't even dreamed of and put it to some good use. Too bad they killed him off...
