Do you speak French, JoeBenjamin?

Tuesday, October 19, 2004 11:01 AM

JoeBenjamin

Unfortunately no, which makes it much harder to learn how to skii when everyone around you barely speaks english

Oh, JoeBenjamin, I know what you're talking about. I water ski, and at the school I work at we currently have three members of the French ski team, one Italian who speaks French, and Tanya, who lives there, who understands French. I'm so lost, but I can understand the "bad words", which makes it interesting ;)

Awesome I have a link to a website that catalogs the insults and profanities of something like 50 languages, it's very entertaining.

Nothing to see here, just typing up crap for later.

Eels - You've probably heard of these guys, been around for a while. Their frontman, E, is also a DJ named MC Honky with one album out called I Am The Messiah.

PUSA - PUSA has been around since the 90s. The two frontmen play a "guitbass" and a "bassitar", which are both bassically combinations of bass and guitar strings with special pick-ups. They've also worked on an album with booty freak Sir Mix-A-Lot, and though I don't know if it ever saw release I do know they released a single for a soundtrack in 1998 called Freak Momma.

More "ignore this please":

Self - Self, from Murphreesboro, TN has been around since 1995. Gizmodgery was an concept album they did composed mostly of toy instruments. Unfortunately their lead guitarist, Mike Mahaffey, died this year of a heart attack in his sleep, and it doesn't look like their final album Ornament And Crime will ever be released.

Blackalicious - Headed by rapper Gift of Gab with beats arranged by Xcel, Blackalicious produces slick intelligent hip-hop with guests such as George Clinton, DJ Shadow, and Saul Williams. They've just released a new album called The Craft.
