you are correct comrade.

an east german made 1962 mak on the left, and a 1976 made USSR makarov on the rt.

the e. german is my current carry piece.

i was gonna post em on your cigar thread, kinda goes with the Russian heritage thing. i have more russian WWII weapons than from any other country, at least 9 off the top of my head. those Russians know how to make a firearm.

now how do i get my hands on a Stechkin APS?

Makarovs are fun. My 1991 Bulgarian was $150 well spent. =)

well, i'm not John, but to answer your question:

yes, they do. the mak's from Florida Ammo have 2 sets to begin with: the "Commie Death Star" bakelite grips, and the "Thumb-rest, give-ya-a-blood-blister-on-your-hand rubber grips". Go to http://www.makarov.com/ for more info.

A pic of my Mak, with the black grips 'o death on it:

the black grips are uncomfortable, and not as cool looking as the commie red grips.

i need to get the original black e. german grips on my german gun, but the russian one is correct.

they also make a grip called the mak-a-wrap which is made of rubber, but you need a big hand for it. there are also custom wooden grips available too.
