aka 40 short and weak, but i would rather shoot it than a 9mm, but 10mm is still pretty pimp.

Shit, ya think that's short and weak, have ya seen the new 45GAP? They keep trying to sell this thing as the answer to a prayer by saying the pressures and speeds are the same as 45ACP, but I'm not convinced. Is the little bit of cartridge length rerally going to produce that much more concealability? I think not. SOrry, but Browning had it right when he produced the 1911. It still works the best. Just my opinion, fellas.

not tryin to defend 45GAP, but it is a little different than 45 ACP. I love loading and shooting 45 ACP. i can tell ya that it is thought of as a low pressure round, vs the GAP which is a high pressure round, like the 9mm and 40 S&W.
i still stand by my statement tho. 7.62x25 is the shit! 1500 FPS from a pistol, even faster from a SMG.

Well, I don't doubt what you say, but personally, I don't want a fast round for a self defense weapon. I want subsonic. Too many other people to think about. Remember, you only must scramble the central nervous system to shut them off like a light switch. Penetration and expansion....

850 FPS is fine by me, just like God and John Moses Browning wanted it. .45GAP is just Gaston's way of glorifying his name. Don't get me wrong, I love my 10mm too but I'll stick with my 1911's and .45ACP.

If the shit ever hit the fan, I'd have my trusty 1911 by my side. Eventhough that pistol is 62 years old, it STILL shoots 1.5" groups at 25yards, and flawlessly loads every time. Not to mention the legendary stopping power of the .45ACP round.
I'd take a .40S&W overtop of a 9mm Parabellum any day of the week, though...
