That's fucking awesome. Did you get the Koi for a reason, or just for the look of it?

He probably walked into a tattoo shop cause he wanted to be a hard ass and pointed at something that looked japanese and over done.

yea. When i got it, I didnt just want some thing that i wasnt gonna be happy with a few years later. Also i didnt want something trendy ex: barb wire haha BUT yea the koi has many meanings, its a sign of courage and good luck. but Its also a symbol of achieving high goals, and the story of life...in a sense. Yellow River in japan has a Water fall (Dragons Gate) and the story goes if the koi swam up the water fall they would turn into dragons. and thats how dragons came about. and i thought that was such a bad ass story and i loved the symbolism so i had something drawn up and 3 hrs later...thanks tho.

Im part Japanese and I've always wanted to get my Japanese family crest tattooed on my shoulder with something else wrapped around it. I was considering the koi for a while b/c of like you said... story and symbolism. But I didn't think the koi would turn out well. But I like the way your's looks. I've seen them before taking up an entire back... maybe I'll get one of those. (yeah right)
