I used to swim on the north side of the pier for a few miles north and run back every day. Oh how I love the Atlantic ocean so much more than the gulf! Was the pic from this week?

The Atlantic owns the Gulf in every way, shape and form.

They are two bodies of water used in which I dive, surf, swim, kayak, etc. in/on. Being "fair" does not play into personal preference at all in this situation. I simply prefer one to the other for specific qualities which largely is dependent on the factors directly related to the topography of the ocean floor.
With that said, I can appreciate how some people prefer particular characteristics of the Gulf.
One is not necessarily better than the other. Just different.
It is what it is.

I prefer the Atlantic because I was raised over there and the water is cleaner, colder, etc.

yes i understand it's about preference but c'mon, it's a gulf. the surf and whatnot isn't comparable.
it's almost like comparing crescent hill on the USF campus with mount vesuvius.
