Description:
Nicest, most sincere person I've ever met. You've gotta get his new book!

The Marc

I considered going to the signing at Borders, but then I drove by to see what kind of turnout they had and realized there was no place nearby to park, and that they had to stop letting people in. Even though I realized that I couldn't get in, it was still pretty cool to see such a nice, calm person generating that kind of hoopla.

"Hey, nice to meet you. Congrats on the Superbowl and the new book. Sorry about your kid."

I know you wouldn't.

That's what I might say. If I wanted the shit kicked out of me.

People who say that usually don't know anything about football.

The Raiders played the Bucs in Super Bowl XXVII. Gruden built that Raiders team, as well. You cannot claim that Gruden has never built a Super Bowl team.

Weeb Ewbank is the best Colts coach of all time!

[Edited by CrazyPills69 on 7/23/2007 5:52:13 PM. Reason for edit: I like Dungy as a person. I'm glad he got a ring as a coach, but come on, I'm a Ravens fan who lives in the Tampa Bay area. I simply have to bash him and the Indys.]

^^Elaborate on that some. You won't find many unbiased people who think that Gruden is a better coach than Dungy at this point... there really isn't a lot to base that claim on. And it's really too bad that we can't incorporate Brian Billick into this debate. Sorry Gregg :-(

Sure we can. Billick was a supposed "offensive genius ". Gruden was labeled the same thing. Dungy was thought to be a "defensive genius ". The funny thing is that each of these coaches were labeled as such after they left their coordinator/head coach job with a previous team. All three won the Super Bowl with teams that performed at an extremely high level on the other side of the ball while maintaining a squad that simply performed well enough to assure a win (Just don't lose the game, guys, k?). Plus, Billick and Dungy are buddies. They worked together in Minnesota.

Dungy could be gloating, (Right, Glazers?) but he isn't like that.

The 'going to hell thing' is more a belief of Catholicism. I really don't buy into it either. I mean, no person in the right state of mind would kill themselves, therefore how could he be condemmed for such an act, especially when he was pretty much just a kid?

And what about those kids you hear about every year who die of accidental hanging? I know it sounds improbable, but I know of 2 people growing up who lost friends/sons because both times the little boys were playing practical jokes on their sisters and ended up hanging themselves. Are you telling me that those little boys are in hell now too?

Finally, who are we to pass judgement on those who have, according to some 'sinned' by taking their own lives? We're just as guilty of sin as they are.

^^Read the suicide thread.

99% chance he's in hell, or just rotting in the ground.
