^yes i am from Miami, how does that make me a hick and southern? Miami is totally different then the rest of the state in the sense that we are not hicks nor southerners. you will rarely find a confederate flag in Miami, or people listening to country, because it doesn't happen there as it does in other parts of the state.

i lived down in boca raton all throughout highschool and went to miami often, and this is a huuuge overstatement. miami is great and all but not all that much different from any other large city in florida.

^except you won't find any confederate flags (which is usually around hicks and people who are southern) in Miami like you do in Tampa, which is far more hickish than Miami. While Miami is in the Southern part of the country, when you think of the South you think of Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, etc. Not Florida, and especially not Miami.

go out to the redlands and you might, but if you stay in the city and its outskirts of kendall (where i'm from), pinecrest, coral gables, etc. you won't find rednecks.
