you're right..they also didn't become ranked #2 within the first 11 years of having their football program

actually, in UF's:
5th year they ended at 24th place for the year
6th year they ended at 25th place for the year
7th year they ended at 11th place for the year
8th year they ended at 13th place for the year
11th year they ended at 9th place for the year
oh football guru, amber, please remind us all when was the last time usf ended up ranked at the end of the year?

I grew up near College Park and the Naval Academy, but I went to USF. I think FSU and UF fans need to be brought back down to earth in terms of where they fit into the overall landscape of college football tradition.

^^They still have a rich tradition. This is the difference between the NFL and college football. Hell, Syracuse has been terrible for seven years, but they have had players who were/are much better than UF. The right recruiter and head set wearer may be all it takes. Ask USC and Pete Carroll.
